‘RAGE MILK’
Rage Milk is a six-minute performance art video that explores the complex and tumultuous bond between mother and child. The piece examines the sacrifices inherent in motherhood, with a particular focus on the act of breastfeeding and the physical and emotional toll it can take on the mother. It highlights the primal, often relentless need for nourishment that children possess, and the profound impact this has on the mother’s sense of self.
The unbreakable yet fragile connection between parent and child is symbolised through intertwined braids of hair, visually linking each child to the mother. The performance also touches on themes of reclaiming identity as a parent gains distance from their child, alongside the child’s journey toward newfound independence.
